FrostyVoxBox

Let’s Review: #FrostyVoxBox

5:30 PM

Very excited to talk about another Vox Box I received from Influenster at the end of 2014.

This #FrostyVoxBox had a lot of fun and great products in it -- some I was already familiar with and some I was only introduced through this box.

Here’s what I got:
  • Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliner
  • NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Color
  • Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Decaf Green Tea
  • Boots No7 Protect and Perfect Advanced
  • McCormick Gourmet All Natural Thyme
  • Fruit Vines Cherry Bites
  • EcoTools Sleek and Shine Finisher

Stuff I loved

The Rimmel stuff I loved. A few Vox Boxes back I was introduced to the Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara and that is now my go-to mascara. So, the Makeup Remover and Eyeliner are a perfect compliment to something I was already wearing. The eyeliner goes on smooth, easy and strong. No longer do I have to go over the same area several times just to get the eyeliner darker. The makeup remover is also great because it doesn’t take much, maybe one swipe and the makeup is gone. Love it and will continue to purchase these products.

What could be better during the holidays than candy canes? Well Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane tea was perfect, and it was like they knew I was with baby, because it’s decaf! The taste was great and not overbearing! Very happy with it and drank it out of my holiday Magic 107.7 mug. Had to give a shout out to my old stomping grounds.

I love, love to cook, so receiving the McCormick Thyme was a blessing. Days before the hubby had told me he wanted our special mushroom and rice soup and it called for Thyme – what a perfect chance to try it. It made the recipe delicious and hearty. Highly recommend.

I rarely brush or do anything with my long, wavy hair, so I was a little nervous at first about testing a brush. Yet, I can say, I was pleasantly surprised by the EcoTools Sleep and Shine Finisher. This brush helped brush out the waves before I went to straighten it. A lot of times I would take the time to just use the straightener to do the job, but using the brush helped cut down on that time, and didn’t break my hair.  Will continue to use this!

Stuff I wasn’t impressed with

Admittedly I am not a huge lip color girl. I will make my face up with everything else but I always stop at lipstick. I am not sure why, I should cover my lips because they are always peeling. Anyway, the NYC Expert Last Lip Color wasn’t my favorite. Yes, the color lasted a long time and was nice to put on, however I thought the color I was sent was a little too dark for me. I am pale and this color was for someone with a darker complexion or lived in a colder climate. It stays sunny and mild here, so why make my makeup so dark.

The only thing I didn’t like about the Boots Protect and Perfect was how small the sample was. I don’t think I could accurately test this product because I only got two uses out of it. The directions say use morning and night daily.. well I only got morning and night. Not enough to really tell you what I thought. It was nice when it went on, just don’t have enough to tell you more.

I took the Fruit Vines Cherry Bites on a small road trip so I had a snack when I got hungry and while they came in handy for that, I wouldn’t buy them again. It wasn’t that they tasted bad – because they had a good cherry flavor, I just am not a fan of the long vine-type candy.

Overall a good Vox Box, and like I said some products I will continue to use regularly. Thanks again to Influenster for including me on this round. If you are interested in Influenster, leave a comment and I will send you a code to get started.

Let's Review: #VSSportBra Vox Box

7:56 PM

What an awesome Influenster VoxBox!

I was lucky enough to receive the #VSSportBra VoxBox, and I can’t rave enough about this box.

In the box I was sent 15 Victoria Secret 25 percent off coupons to use or share with friends, two pieces of literature about the Victoria Secret Activewear, an Angel by Victoria Secret Sport Bra and Knockout by Victoria Secret Crops!

I am pretty active and try to do yoga weekly and run when I can, so I was pretty excited to try the sport bra and crops out.

What I loved about the sport bra is how it fit, it didn’t ride up and stayed in place. The super cute design was just an added bonus. Don’t you just love the criss-cross back?

The crops fit perfectly and other than them looking great, the two added features I loved were the hidden inside pocket (house key anyone) and the hidden drawstring!

After testing out the sport bra and crops for a few weeks I headed to the closest VS store so I could see the other designs and VS activewear. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know, before this that VS was doing activewear and doing it this well! Look at these super cute designs. BTW, I MUST GET those crazy bright pink crops!

I was thoroughly impressed with the selection at the Victoria Secret store, from the different designs of the sport bra (think a design and fit for EVERYONE!) to the super cute prints and fabrics. I also feel the prices were fair for what you were getting, and it was very comparable to the mid- to high-priced workout gear you see a lot of ladies wearing around the gym.

Basically, I love my new workout gear and can’t wait to go grab some more items… you can NEVER have enough comfy workout clothes! I highly recommend at least going for a fitting and checking out the new Victoria Secret activewear.

Driving Miss Daisy..or....

11:19 AM

Driving. The thing that as a teenager I could not WAIT to do. The freedom, and the feeling you are getting older and have more responsibility. It was great as a teenager looking forward to the day you got those keys and headed out.

My favorite old car - BMW 2002 tii

I grew up in a decently small town, so driving around there wasn't as exciting as the first time I got to drive to the big city, Orlando. When I started driving boy bands were blowing up in Orlando and that is where I needed and wanted to be. So when mom said I could drive to Orlando by myself, well that was the best news.

I started with a 1994 Chevy Lumina, and then got a 2002 Nissan Sentra. Now I have a Volkswagen that I love! I don't think I could ever have a different make than a Volkswagen. They have treated me well and I love their cars.

My Nissan was silver.

BUT everyone can dream. Hubs and I love the Porsche Panamera. If I had money to burn, I think I'd look into that. Ha.

Porsche Panamera..beautiful.

Now that I am married and older, driving isn't as fun. Well let me say driving to and from work isn't as fun but a long road trip or a drive back to the homeland with the music cranked up, and singing along, that is fun. The traffic stinks in the "big city" but thankfully my new job allows me to avoid the dreaded highway and have an easy commute.

One thing I have been wondering recently is if other couples are like Hubby and I when it comes to driving. Let me explain, he has his car and I have mine. For some reason we don't look at it as the families cars, but mine and his. Is this normal? Anyway, if we go anywhere and my car is the chosen one, I drive. And the same is if we choose to go in his car, he drives. The only other time is if I am being the designated driver, then I will drive his car.

Do other couples do this? I notice that in a lot of relationships the guy drives all the time, no matter what car.

Hubs favorite old car - 1940 Ford Coupe

I also think driving causes the most fights among couples. I have a WAY different driving style than the Hubs does and it results in uncomfortable noises if I get to close, or comments on how I am driving. No one likes to be told how to drive, so I can see how these just makes people crazy, because I am in the same boat. But I am not saying he is the only one who says things, I am guilty of it too.

Driving, it's "such a privilege" as my parents use to say. How is it handled in your house-hold?
